SCERTS Parent Workshop
On Tuesday 25th November 2025, Arbour Vale School hosted the SCERTS Workshop run by our Innovation in Education Lead Lyuba Kisel..
SCERTS, which stands for Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support, is a research-based educational approach and multidisciplinary framework that directly addresses the core challenges faced by autistic children.
Parents were given the opportunity to meet and discuss about how SCERTS can be implemented to support their children both in school and at home and to ask any questions they had.
Feedback from parents was very positive and were asked what the most useful part of the workshop was:
- “ It was great to learn about social, emotional, and self- regulation.”
- “I gained an understanding of what SCERTS means”
- “I was able to understand how SCERTS helps a child’s communication.”
- “Its good to have an understanding of these activities you do at school.”
- “It was well planned, informative and interesting”
