A visit from Caldicott
It was with great excitement that Arbour Vale School invited Caldicott to join in for some festive fun before the school holidays.
Many of the children from Arbour Vale have visited Caldicott in the past to play cricket with the senior boys and to sing carols around the school’s Christmas tree. It was therefore lovely to return the favour and see some familiar faces.
When the boys arrived, they went into Saroj Nyman’s Key Stage 4 class. The boys spent the first part of the morning learning Makaton sign, they learned how to sign ‘Christmas’, ‘Santa’, ‘present’, ‘snowman’ and several other festive words. They were then invited into the Hall for a performance of some festive show tunes that students have been rehearsing for our Nativity show.
Senior Master, Jo Duncan said ‘It is such a valuable relationship that we have with Arbour Vale School and we thank them for the wonderful welcome we received. It was such an incredible visit and one we will treasure. The boys were buzzing about it on the drive back to school.’
One of the students, Charlie, said ‘I enjoyed learning sign language and it was great to see them perform and dance’.
