Autumn STEM Week
We held our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) week in November. The theme was ‘Space’, which linked with the curriculum topic for this term. The aim of our STEM Week was to give the pupils a greater awareness and understanding of space and to work on and develop a range of skills, such as team work, investigation skills, creativity and communication.
There were two assemblies to introduce the week and to give pupils an insight into what they will be doing. Classes chose one or more activities to work on for the week. The STEM space theme was also carried over into PE and Food Technology lessons.
Pupils made a brilliant contribution to the week, really getting involved in their class activities.
Pupils were able to find out about other class projects in a final STEM assembly, where pupils had the opportunity to present the work from their class.
The skills used during the week will be developed further during our next STEM Project in the spring term.
Well done to everyone involved!
