Bikeability

Last term, Arbour Vale School hosted a Bikeability level 1 and taster level 2 course. There were nine pupils who participated from Years 7, 8 and 9.

The pupils learnt about road safety, how to stop and start the bike in control, how to manoeuvre around objects and spatial awareness. The pupils developed their skills within the school’s MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) and those who demonstrated a good level of riding skill, were given the opportunity to practice within the schools turning circle.

The pupils worked very hard and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. The instructor was very impressed and all of the pupils were able to gain a certification for the standard that they achieved.
