Careers Event Supports Next Steps after School

Arbour Vale School recently hosted a careers event for students and parents, focused on what happens after school and the pathways available into further education, training and employment.

The event gave families the chance to explore realistic next steps and ask practical questions about life beyond school – from developing independence and life skills to preparing for work.

Orchard Hill College was pleased to take part, with staff from Park View College attending to speak directly with parents and students about the range of courses available. These include:

• Foundation Skills for Life
• Skills for Work and Living
• WorkStart, including Supported Internships

Conversations focused on helping students find the right progression route based on their interests, abilities and long-term goals, with an emphasis on confidence, independence and preparation for adulthood.

Events like this play a vital role in giving families clear, joined-up careers guidance and helping young people make informed decisions about their future.
