Children’s Mental Health Week 2025

We have been taking part in a number of activities in school for Children’s Mental Health Week. Throughout the week, pupils engaged in activities focused on positive mental health and wellbeing during their PSHE/PSED lessons.

The week culminated with a non-uniform day on Friday 7th February when pupils were encouraged to wear outfits to express themselves, enabling everyone’s creativity to shine. It was a very colourful day with everyone sporting bright colours and some pupils even decorated a t-shirt or shirt to show off their favourite things.

Every pupil also decorated a piece of a jigsaw puzzle with some of their favourite colours and things that make them happy. One pupil used the colours of the characters from the film Inside Out around the edge of his puzzle piece to represent his outer emotions and drew a majestic tree in the centre to represent the place he went to, to find inner calm. Another piece was beautifully coloured in with the words ‘Cousin, friends, family”.

All classes brought their puzzle pieces to the Secondary Meeting room and they were added to a board to show how we all fit together as one school. The end result is a very colourful display when you look at it from a distance but you are soon drawn in to look at the individual pieces added by the pupils. It will be displayed in school for everyone to enjoy.
