Coffee Mornings at Arbour Vale House

Students from the Post 16 Department have run Coffee mornings for different people at Arbour Vale House on weekly basis this term. This has been a fantastic opportunity for students to develop vocational skills in a simulated real life environment. The young people get to practice key skills such as greeting people, answering the phone, taking orders, making hot drinks and ushering visitors.

The groups of visitors so far has consisted of:

  • “Step together” (local organisation)
  • Ex AVS member of staff
  • Ex AVS students
  • Parents coming in to attend workshops

We are looking forward to delivering more Coffee Mornings next term.
