RSE is about the emotional, social and cultural development of students, and involves learning about relationships, sexual health, sexuality, healthy lifestyles, diversity and personal identity.
We integrate RSE an Health Education throughout all aspects of school life. These daily experiences will serve as the primary foundation through which children and young people will develop the knowledge, skills, and attributes essential for staying healthy, ensuring safety, and cultivating positive relationships, thereby enabling them to flourish both now and in the future.
Learning opportunities will appear in every step of the student’s school day. For example: Toilet Training, looking after our body, identifying body parts, maintaining positive relationships, identifying dangerous situations, family members, puberty, likes/dislikes, friendships and our emotions.
Parents/Carers have the right to withdraw their child from Relationships and Sex Education. Please bear in mind that the curriculum includes essential topics such as family, friendship and safety, including online safety, which are vital for all pupils to understand.
We would ask you to have an initial conversation with your class teacher or your Phase Leader to find out more information about what is being taught in your child’s class if you are considering withdrawing your child from RSE lessons.
If you would like to withdraw your child from RSE, please complete the form which you can obtain from the school office.
