PE – Aims and Intended Outcomes
PE at Arbour Vale School promotes exploration and skill development in a supportive and inclusive setting. Through engaging activities, students enhance their physical literacy skills and develop motor skills. Participating in games that build tactical awareness is also available through our formal curriculum. Additionally, PE encourages recreational sports and leisure activities, supporting lifelong health, social interaction, and overall well-being.
Dependant on the needs of the learners, the curriculum they access will be the most appropriate, whether that be pre-formal, semi-formal or formal.
Pupils with profound and complex learning difficulties engage in a holistic approach to learning, which includes weekly sessions in the hydrotherapy pool and soft play area, alongside a dedicated PE lesson with a specialist teacher which focuses on pupils’ sensory and physical needs suited to their stage of development.
