Benefits for Disabled Young Children:

This event aims to empower disabled children by enhancing their physical fitness, motor skills, and overall health. Engaging in sports activities contributes to building confidence, resilience, and a positive self-image, offering a unique opportunity for participants to explore their strengths and unlock their full potential.

Social Impacts:

The Slough Disability Sports Taster Event emphasizes fostering a sense of belonging and community, providing children with opportunities to connect, share experiences, and build supportive networks. Beyond the event, these social connections contribute significantly to increased social integration, helping to reduce feelings of isolation among disabled children.

Our primary goal is to provide opportunities for disabled children to enjoy sports fully. Through collaborative activities like Wheelchair Rugby, Disability Football, and Multi-Sports, children can build relationships that extend beyond the event, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie.

Targeted Age-Group and Community Impact:

Tailored for children aged 8-14, the programme addresses a gap identified in previous Slough’s Annual Equality and Diversity reports, recognizing the ongoing need for enhanced sports opportunities in the community. Our emphasis on grassroots development aligns with the demand for disability sports, focusing on creating more accessible programmes.
