Good Ofsted Report
Following our Ofsted inspection on 10th and 11th January 2023, we are delighted to announce that in all categories of the inspection report the school was judged ‘GOOD’.
The report said, “Pupils are resoundingly clear that their school is a ‘friendly, happy, welcoming and safe place’. They rise to leader’s high expectations and show positive attitudes to learning.”
It praised staff at the school, “Staff know pupils very well. They provide pupils with the help, care and support they need to become confident, independent and successful citizens.”
The report also praised leaders for their high aspirations, “Leaders and governors have high aspirations for all staff and pupils. They ensure that staff know pupils’ individual education, health and care (EHC) plans and pastoral needs well.”
Neil Sykes, Principal, has sent a message to parents saying, “I am delighted to inform you, that in all categories of the inspection report the school was judged ‘GOOD’. The last 5 years have seen considerable change within the school, made all the more difficult by the impact of Covid-19. The judgement of ‘Good’ is therefore all the more remarkable.”
Mr Sykes also thanked parents for their support on the school improvement journey, “Parental engagement has also been incredibly supportive and recognised in the ‘Leading Parent Partnership’ Award received last year.”
The school, which caters for pupils with moderate, severe or profound learning difficulties, joined the Orchard Hill College Academy Trust in November 2018 and this is its first inspection since becoming part of the trust.
