Hove Class visits Wexham Park Hospital for community insight

By Fiona Wilkins - March 14th, 2024 | Posted in Article

As part of our community curriculum, Hove Class recently embarked on an enriching visit to Wexham Park Hospital. By talking to members of the Frimley Health Foundation Trust, our students had the privilege of gaining valuable insights into the trust’s operations, the variety of services it provides, and its promotion of both physical and mental well-being.

We began our visit with an informative session on the trust’s role,  highlighting its commitment to delivering healthcare services to the community. We were then given advice on mental well-being and the availability of various therapies to support individuals on their wellness journey.

In observance of National Non-Smoking Day, our visit included participation in a carbon monoxide breath test! This practical experience not only emphasised the importance of not smoking but also raised awareness about the health risks associated with tobacco use and addiction.

We would like to thank the staff at Wexham Park Hospital for their hospitality and willingness to share their expertise with us, responding to our questions with thorough explanations, and making our visit both educational and memorable.

In class, we were able to reflect on our time at Wexham Park Hospital and discuss the crucial role that healthcare institutions play in community well-being.
