This is allocated government funding available for primary schools to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities that we offer.
Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and Sport. The funding helps make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE in sport we offer for Primary pupils.
It is a requirement for schools to publish the competence of their Year 6 pupils in swimming each year. Due to the nature of the SEND experienced by the cohort, this is not appropriate to pupils at Arbour Vale School.
The 2025/26 academic year is the final year for this specific ring-fenced premium funding model.
The government is replacing the premium with a new PE and School Sport Partnerships Network, which transitions through Autumn 2026 before becoming fully operational in Spring 2027.
