Proposed Academy Conversion
THE CONVERSION OF ARBOUR VALE SCHOOL TO ACADEMY STATUS IN APRIL 2018
Following our Ofsted inspection in June 2017, Arbour Vale School was judged to be inadequate and requires significant improvement in all areas of the school to fully meet the needs of our pupils. As a result, the Department of Education decided that to effectively action the improvements necessary, the school should become a sponsored academy. Orchard Hill College Academy Trust (OHCAT) has been appointed to support us as a sponsor. Having met with the Executives from the Trust and Slough Borough Council, we feel that OHCAT is an ideal sponsor to take our school forward.
Everyone at OHCAT shares our vision for the future of Arbour Vale School and they have the capacity needed to support the school to accelerate improvements for our pupils. Slough Borough Council, our Board of Governors and OHCAT are working closely alongside our senior leaders to ensure a smooth transition and clear trajectory of improvement for a new beginning in April 2018.
We are running some information events to help staff, parents, carers and the community understand a little bit more of what it means to be an academy and being part of Orchard Hill College Academy Trust.
We would welcome your presence at the following sessions:
- Tuesday 30th January 2018 at 3.30pm for staff
- Tuesday 30th January 2018 at 6pm for parents, carers and members of the community
- Tuesday 6th February 2018 between 3.30pm and 6:00pm as informal drop in for parents, community and staff
We understand that some staff, parents, carers and other members of the community may not be able to attend the meetings so we have added some links below for anyone to view an Information leaflet and a ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ (FAQ) document which provides information about some of the questions you may have.
