OT Parent Workshop
The Occupational Therapy department are hosting a training session for families at Arbour Vale School. This is being held on Wednesday 22nd June from 9.30-11am.
This session has been set up in response to parent feedback and will give families the opportunity to meet the OT team as well as receive some advice relating to the different therapies available.
Training Details
This workshop will give you the opportunity to meet the Occupational Therapists (OTs) at AVS and discuss sensory processing as well as specific strategies to support your child at home.
Sensory processing is the way our brain helps us to receive and respond to information from our senses, but sometimes, the way our brain understands this information can make it difficult to carry out everyday activities. By attending this workshop, parents and carers can build upon their existing understanding of Sensory Processing difficulties and learn new ways to understand and help their child. The workshop will include time to share experiences, reflect on shared learning and discover new sensory exploration ideas as well as coping strategies, from one another.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the workshop and hearing your thoughts on how you would like to shape the OT training, to meet the needs of your child, over the forthcoming academic year.
