Sensory Processing Workshop

On Tuesday 23rd January 2024, Arbour Vale Staff hosted a Sensory Processing workshop for parents. Parents were able to explore what it was like for a young person with sensory processing difficulties and took away with them some ideas of what can be done at home to help! If you missed the training, please have a look at the PowerPoint presentation that was shared with parents on the day.

Feedback from parents was positive. Parents were asked what was the most useful part of the workshop.

Here are some of their replies:

“Knowing what to do when my child is smearing and understanding triggers are sensory based”

“Knowing that my child waking up early could be based on something not so obvious”

“To understand different practical ways to help our kids for example, sand tray, pasta tray, painting etc”

“Came to know new things about interception and the 8 senses”

“Gaining awareness on how to support my child’s sensory needs”
