TEACCH Workshop for Parents
On Tuesday 11th February 2025, Arbour Vale Staff hosted a TEACCH workshop for parents. Lyubov Kisel explained the TEACCH approach and suggested ways that this could be implemented in the home. Parents were invited to take part in a practical demonstration of this approach and explore the different ways in which visual aids could be utilised at home.
If you missed the training, please have a look at the PowerPoint presentation that was shared with parents on the day:
ASD Approaches at AVS 2025 training for parents
The workshop was very well attended and feedback from parents was positive. Parents were asked what was the most useful part of the workshop. Below are some of their replies:
‘’ All of the training was good. I liked the special star strategy that can be used to try to change the activity. Do keep doing the training. Well done”
‘’ Everything! I learnt about timetables, clarity, routine, flexibility, preparation, explanation and many more’’
‘’ Understanding how the brain of an ASD child works – how to teach and help them”
